Vers un Québec sans faim!

Tuesday June 23rd, 2026

An Exhibition of Posters on Food Rights and Nutrition, Hosted by the Écomusée du Fier Monde

Montréal, Monday June 23rd, 2026 On display July 8th to October 4th, 2026 at the Écomusée du Fier Monde, “Vers un Québec Sans Faim!” presents food rights and nutrition as fundamental human rights and a concern to society at large. The exhibition offers an outline of this complex issue via a selection of posters made by several citizens’ collectives.

Food Rights are Human Rights

Using the urgent problem of global (as well as local to Québec and Canada) food insecurity as a starting point, the exhibition questions the capacity of both conventional and alternative agriculture and food systems to adequately and sustainably meet the needs and desires of various populations. The pieces on display are expressions of several community food and agriculture campaigns that highlight critical food education and the struggle for empowerment.

Building on the achievements and promises of these initiatives, the exhibition explores their emancipatory potential and offers a vision of food systems that prioritize human creativity, equal access, social justice, and ecological sustainability. As it addresses the issues and challenges of food security and sovereignty for the future of humanity and the planet, “Vers un Québec sans faim!” believes firmly in the recognition and implementation of the right to food, for all.

Join us at the vernissage on Wednesday July 8th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Écomusée du Fier Monde.
