Discover the works up for auction at the Écomusée du fier monde’s annual benefit auction
Montreal, Thursday, April 16, 2026 – More than 60 local artists are featured in the exhibition Variations on Canadian Arton view from April 29 to May 10 at the Écomusée du fier monde. Through a diversity of styles, themes and techniques, admire a selection of pictorial works representative of contemporary Quebec and Canadian creation. The works on display will be auctioned off at the 25th Écomusée benefit auctions 25th benefit auction, which highlights a career marked by commitment, culture and community.
25 years of being carried along by your world!
This year, the Écomusée du fier monde celebrates the 25th anniversary of its annual fundraising auction. Since its inception, over 1,500 works have been acquired by art lovers. Once again this year, the Écomusée is offering a hybrid formula, combining an indoor and online event. On Tuesday, May 12, a live auction will offer 36 works for sale. A further 30 works will be accessible via a virtual platform, open from April 29 to May 13, offering an expanded and flexible experience for collectors.

After examining the catalog of works presented art historian Jean De Julio-Paquin points out that “several important artists are included in selection 2026, including the leader of the early Plasticiens movement, Jauran (Rodolphe de Repentigny). We also note the presence of Jean Paul Riopelle […] and Betty Goodwin. […] Another important trend at this year’s event was the movement-based productions of Graham Cantieni, Miville and Francine Simonin. […] Marc Séguin, Éliane Excoffier and Richard Morin are also present. […] Whether through painting, engraving, drawing or digital imaging, the works on display address multiple realities, generating different feelings in the viewer. […] Works by Fernand Leduc, Marcel Barbeau and Rita Letendre, emblematic artists of our heritage, are also on display.
