Built in 1887 on Notre-Dame E. Street, when the municipality was regularly fighting against devastating floods during the spring, the station’s function was to pump water to the St.Lawrence River in order to avoid overflows in the city. The building, now abandoned, is of undeniable historical value and its basement, containing a 19th century brick sewer system, hides several underground treasures.

Dive into the past and discover the captivating history of Montreal’s sewers!

Exhibition in French only.
